A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the third party operating that tool. The provider handles the query and supplies its results. We do not keep or record those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be retained so that we can respond. We keep that correspondence within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Our servers automatically receive basic technical details whenever a page loads:

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Cocke County Criminal History does not compile, keep, or sell a database of anyone's criminal-record information. It publishes general directions to records held by the Cocke County Sheriff's Office, court clerks, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not turned into consumer reports or third-party record files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information entered there is governed by the selected provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each company chooses its own retention and disclosure practices, which we do not control. Read those terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to sheriff pages, court portals, Tennessee agencies, legal-aid resources, or independent search services. Once you leave this site, the destination's privacy policy controls. Review it before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may measure activity across websites to select ads. That tracking occurs through the provider's systems.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may still be disclosed to:
- Analytics vendors measuring traffic and site performance
- Search providers processing the queries submitted to them
- Advertising networks serving ads on these pages
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
We use standard safeguards for collected data. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed secure, however, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
This website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Rights may vary with your location and the law that applies. The Tennessee Public Records Act, Tenn. Code Ann. § 10-7-503 et seq., governs access to covered government records, while Tenn. Code Ann. § 38-6-120 addresses TBI criminal-history dissemination. Neither statute turns this private site into a government records custodian. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Request access to personal data we retain about you
- Ask that inaccurate retained information be corrected
- Seek deletion where the law permits it
- Object to certain forms of processing when a right to do so applies
