1. What This Website Is

This private reference site operates independently of government. We do not hold official records, retrieve them for users, conduct official background checks, or submit legal documents for anyone.

Our role is limited to identifying Cocke County record custodians, including the Sheriff's Office, criminal court clerks, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry, and providing links to outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the website, you agree not to:

• Use bots, scrapers, or other automated means against these pages
• Violate any applicable local, Tennessee, or federal law
• Harass, threaten, or stalk a person with information found here
• Use site content for lending, employment, housing, or insurance decisions
• Attempt unauthorized access to the website or its systems
• Disrupt site performance or interfere with another visitor's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

You may not use material from this site or a linked tool to intimidate, threaten, stalk, harass, or discriminate against anyone. This prohibition is especially important for Tennessee Sex Offender Registry information. Tenn. Code Ann. § 40-39-214 governs registry disclosure, and misuse may bring criminal or civil consequences. Registry publication supports public safety awareness, not vigilantism, employment exclusion, or housing discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports. Our advertising partners and this site do not offer tools designed to assess applicants, renters, credit, or insurance risk. You must not use information from these pages or linked tools to:

• Set insurance rates or evaluate creditworthiness
• Make an employment decision
• Evaluate a renter or housing applicant
• Determine eligibility for a permit, license, or public program
• Carry out any other FCRA-regulated purpose

For a legally permitted screening need, use the appropriate official Tennessee Bureau of Investigation channel or a screening provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

The website provides no legal advice. General explanations of Cocke County records cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, or Tennessee expungement rule applies to a specific matter. Ask a Tennessee-licensed attorney for legal advice.

6. No Warranties

All site content is offered "as is." We make no promise that:

8. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Cocke County Criminal History or its content partners. Written permission is required to copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from that material.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim liability for losses arising from site use, including reliance on information obtained here or from a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or proceedings caused by your site use or breach of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Tennessee law governs these terms, and disputes related to use of this site must be brought in a court located in Tennessee. For context, access to covered state and local records is governed by the Tennessee Public Records Act, Tenn. 12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms at any time. A new version takes effect when it is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may suspend or end access at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in effect. The affected provision will be narrowed only as much as necessary to make it enforceable.
